Job summary

TGW Logistics is seeking a Resident Automation Technician to support our customer site in McDonough, GA. The role requires hands-on electrical and mechanical troubleshooting and repair of conveyors and shuttle systems, with an emphasis on safety and KPI delivery.

You will work onsite Thursday to Saturday, 6:30am to 7:30pm, coordinating with the client and internal teams to maintain equipment performance and reliability.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required; associate degree/tech cert preferred.
• Experience in electrical or mechanical troubleshooting and repair of conveyors, AS/RS, shuttle systems preferred.
• Strong attention to detail and problem-solving ability.

Responsibilities

• Resolve customer equipment issues quickly and practically.
• Complete work orders and assignments as issued.
• Perform maintenance on automated onsite equipment (conveyors, cranes, shuttles, scale checks, carton-opening systems).
• Adhere to high quality standards and safety regulations.
• Optimize automation efficiency to meet KPIs and interface with the customer as needed.
• Monitor and maintain site spare parts inventory.

The Resident Automation Technician supports our customer on all automation-related topics. This position requires a broad-based electrical and mechanical skillset and a proactive approach to improve the site’s performance through trouble-shooting and hands-on repair. Based at our customer site, the Resident Automation Technician must represent the TGW image and ensure that a professional relationship with the client is developed and maintained.

This is an onsite position at our customer in McDonough, GA.

Shift: Thursday - Saturday 6:30am - 7:30pm

What you’ll be handling

• Resolve customer equipment issues as quickly and practically as possible.
• Complete work assignments and the associated work orders as assigned.
• Complete maintenance activities pertaining to the automated equipment onsite, including conveyors, cranes, shuttles, scale checks, and carton-opening systems.
• Adhere to the highest quality standards, while always ensuring compliance with health and safety legislation.
• Optimize automation efficiency and performance to ensure delivery of contracted KPIs. Interface with the customer as needed to support operations.
• Monitor and maintain the site spare parts inventory, as applicable.

What you’ll need

• High school diploma or GED required. Associate degree or Technical Certificate preferred.
• Previous experience in electrical or mechanical troubleshooting and repair of material-handling conveyors, AS/RS, and shuttle systems preferred.
• Thorough attention to detail and demonstrated problem-solving ability.
• Excellent communication skills and customer service skills.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Teams, Excel, Word, etc.).
