Job summary

TJX Dayton location is seeking an Equipment Maintenance Technician to diagnose, repair, and maintain automated distribution equipment. You will handle conveyors, cranes, shuttles, scales, and carton-opening systems onsite.

The role requires a high school diploma or GED with 2+ years of industrial maintenance experience, including HMI/SCADA familiarity and the ability to read engineering drawings. Safety compliance and precise workmanship are essential.

Responsibilities

  • Resolve customer equipment issues quickly and practically.
  • Complete work orders and associated tasks as assigned.
  • Perform maintenance on automated onsite equipment (conveyors, cranes, shuttles, scales, carton-opening systems).
  • Adhere to quality standards and comply with health and safety regulations.
  • Optimize automation performance to meet KPIs; interface with customer as needed.
  • Monitor and manage site spare parts inventory.

What you’ll be handling
  • Resolve customer equipment issues as quickly and practically as possible.
  • Complete work assignments and the associated work orders as assigned.
  • Complete maintenance activities pertaining to the automated equipment onsite, including conveyors, cranes, shuttles, scale checks, and carton-opening systems.
  • Adhere to the highest quality standards, while always ensuring compliance with health and safety legislation.
  • Optimize automation efficiency and performance to ensure delivery of contracted KPIs. Interface with the customer as needed to support operations.
  • Monitor and maintain the site spare parts inventory, as applicable.
What you’ll need
  • High school diploma or GED required. Associate degree or Technical Certificate preferred.
  • Minimum two (2) years of demonstrated experience maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing equipment in industrial, warehousing/distribution, or related environments.
  • Familiarity with Human Machine Interface (HMI) and/or Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA) experience.
  • Ability to interpret engineering drawings for use in diagnostics.
  • Thorough attention to detail and demonstrated problem-solving ability.
