Job summary

Ebenezer is seeking a Resident Assistant/Home Health Aide in Minneapolis, MN to provide compassionate personal care and health-support for seniors in a vibrant community. You will assist with daily living activities, monitor residents’ health, and report changes to the care team.

The role includes evening hours (4:00pm-9:00pm), every other weekend/holiday rotations, and shift differential pay. Minimum experience is <1 year, with RN supervision for medical tasks.

Qualifications

• Less than 1 year of experience.
• Ability to use technology (computers, handheld devices, cell phones, and fax machines).
• If under 18, must be on the MN NA registry.

Responsibilities

• Provide personal care to residents (bathing, nail care, shaving, dressing, hair care, feeding, toileting).
• Assist with health-related tasks under RN supervision (medication administration, glucose checks, vital signs).
• Support daily living tasks (laundry, meals, activities).
• Observe and report changes in residents’ condition to staff for care planning.
• Respond to emergencies following established protocols.
• Assist with transfers using mechanical lifts when needed.

Job Overview

Opened in 2020, the Pillars of Prospect Park is conveniently located off the light rail transit station and close to the metro bus near the University of Minnesota campus in Minneapolis, MN. This senior living community features 133 Independent living, 106 assisted living, and 44 memory care apartments. Two buildings make up this vibrant community and also encompass an on-site Intergenerational Child Care Center. Managed by Ebenezer, Minnesota's largest senior living operator. We are looking for a Resident Assistant/Home Health Aide who would provide personal cares to improve and/or maintain the senior assisted living residents’ physical and emotional well-being for our vibrant senior living in Minneapolis, MN.

This caregiver schedule includes;

• 45 hours every two weeks ; Part Time
• Evening Short Shift ; 4:00pm-9:00pm
• Block Schedule:
  • Week 1: Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, and Friday
  • Week 2: Tuesday, Wednesday, Friday, Saturday, and Sunday
• Shift differential pay available
• Every other weekend and holiday rotation

Responsibilities

• Personal Care Assistance:
  Supports residents with daily living activities, including:

  • Bathing
  • Foot and fingernail care
  • Shaving
  • Dressing
  • Hair care
  • Feeding
  • Toileting
  • Assistance with hearing aids and/or glasses
  • 1-2 person transfers and use of mechanical lifts

• Health-Related Support:

  • Assists with treatments as outlined in individualized care plans under the supervision of a Registered Nurse (e.g., blood glucose monitoring).
  • Administers or assists with medications, including insulin injections, as directed by a Registered Nurse.
  • Takes and records vital signs such as temperature, blood pressure, pulse, and respiration.

• Daily Living Support:

  • May assist with household tasks including laundry, cleaning, meal service, and resident activities.

• Resident Observation & Reporting:

  • Monitors and reports changes in residents’ physical or emotional condition (e.g., mood, appetite, weight).
  • Communicates observations to appropriate staff and contributes relevant input to care planning.
  • Acts as a mandated reporter, promptly reporting any concerns related to potential mistreatment.

• Emergency Response:

  • Responds appropriately to resident needs and building emergencies, following established protocols.
