Job summary

Fairview Health Services in Minnetonka is seeking a compassionate caregiver for Amira Choice Minnetonka to support residents’ daily safety and health needs. The role includes evening shifts and a 45-hour biweekly schedule with alternating weekends and holidays, performing personal care, meals, hygiene, and mobility assistance under supervision.

Responsibilities cover range of daily living activities, observation for health changes, and documentation, with RN oversight for clinical tasks.

Qualifications

• Less than 1 year of experience.
• Ability to use technology in the form of computers, handheld devices, cell phones, and fax machines.
• If under 18 must be on the MN NA registry and site must be able to manage restrictions that they are not able to pass medications or operate a mechanical lift.

Responsibilities

• Assists residents with personal cares including bathing, grooming, dressing, and hygiene.
• Assists with feeding and meal service in the dining room.
• Performs light housekeeping tasks and laundry as scheduled.
• Observes residents and reports changes in health or mood to staff.
• Administers medications or assists under RN direction (including insulin).
• Assists with transfers and use of mechanical lift as directed by RN.

Job Overview

Opened in 2018, Amira Choice Minnetonka is a 100 unit senior living community that offers Independent and Assisted Living as well as Memory Care and Care Suites. Our beautiful location is just minutes from The Ridgedale Mall, St Louis Park, and near Highways 394 and 494 while close to public transportation. This position is responsible for ensuring that the safety and health needs of the residents are met.

This schedule includes:

• 45 hours per two weeks
• evening shifts: 2PM - 9PM
• every other weekend and holiday rotation

Responsibilities

• Assists residents with personal cares including but not limited to:
• Bathing/showering
• Foot and fingernail care
• Shaving
• Dressing
• Assistance with use of hearing aids and/or glasses
• Hair care
• Feeding
• Toileting
• Escorts
• 1-2 person transfers and use of mechanical lift
• Provides health-related services as directed: Assists with treatments per individualized care plan under the direction of the Registered Nurse. (includes blood glucose monitoring)
• Administers medication or assists with this under the direction of the Registered Nurse (includes insulin injections). Takes and records temperature, blood pressure, pulse and respiration under the direction of the Registered Nurse
• Performs specified home services:
• Performs laundry service per schedule.
• Follows cleaning schedule for the shift worked.
• Delivers meal trays.
• Assists with meal service in dining room.
• Assists with preparing for and/or facilitating resident social and recreational activities as assigned and as requested.
• Observes tenants/residents and reports status to appropriate staff.
• Notifies appropriate staff of changes in physical and/or emotional conditions such as change in attitude or mood, loss of appetite, change in weight.
• Serves as a mandated reporter and reports any concerns regarding potential mistreatment
• Offers pertinent observations and input.
• Responds appropriately to resident and building emergencies.
