Ebenezer’s Amira Choice of Forest Lake, MN is seeking a dedicated Resident Assistant to support residents in both assisted living and memory care settings. The role includes on‑the‑job medication passing training and requires compassion, reliability, and teamwork.

The position features a 40-hour schedule every two weeks with evening shifts and every‑other weekend, offering opportunities to assist with daily activities and resident social events in Forest Lake, MN.

Qualifications

• Less than 1 year of caregiving or related experience.
• Ability to use technology on computers, handheld devices, cell phones, and fax machines.
• If under 18, must be on MN NA registry and site must manage restrictions for med passing or lift operation.

Responsibilities

• Assists residents with personal cares (bathing, grooming, dressing).
• Assists with use of hearing aids and/or glasses and helps with hair care and hygiene.
• Administers medications or assists under RN supervision (includes insulin injections).
• Performs health-related services per care plan under RN direction (e.g., glucose monitoring).
• Delivers meals and assists with meal service in dining room.
• Performs laundry and follows shift cleaning schedule.
• Notifies staff of changes in residents' condition or mood and reports accordingly.
• Responds to resident and building emergencies.

Job Overview

Amira Choice of Forest Lake is a beautiful, well-designed senior living community that offers the highest level of distinction for our residents. Located North of the twin cities metro area in beautiful Forest Lake, MN. This building is managed by Ebenezer. We offer 80 senior units with a mix of Independent/Assisted Living as well as Memory Care and Care Suites. Our community is adjacent to both Minneapolis and St. Paul, MN and is near public transportation making it a convenient location for our employees. We boast an exceptional team of caregivers who believe in our mission to heal, discover, and educate for longer healthier, more meaningful lives.

We are looking for a Resident Assistant who would provide personal cares to improve and/or maintain the senior assisted living/memory care residents’ physical and emotional well-being for our busy senior living in Forest Lake, MN. In the position one will be provided on the job medication passing training and be expected to pass medications.

Caregiver Schedule

• 40 hours per two weeks
• Evening shift. Offers evening shift differential pay
• Every other weekend

Responsibilities

• Assists residents with personal cares including but not limited to:
• Bathing/showering
• Foot and fingernail care
• Shaving
• Dressing
• Assistance with use of hearing aids and/or glasses
• Hair care
• Feeding
• Toileting
• Escorts
• 1-2 person transfers and use of mechanical lift
• Provides health-related services as directed: Assists with treatments per individualized care plan under the direction of the Registered Nurse. (includes blood glucose monitoring)
• Administers medication or assists with this under the direction of the Registered Nurse (includes insulin injections). Takes and records temperature, blood pressure, pulse and respiration under the direction of the Registered Nurse
• Performs specified home services:
• Performs laundry service per schedule.
• Follows cleaning schedule for the shift worked.
• Delivers meal trays.
• Assists with meal service in dining room.
• Assists with preparing for and/or facilitating resident social and recreational activities as assigned and as requested.
• Observes tenants/residents and reports status to appropriate staff.
• Notifies appropriate staff of changes in physical and/or emotional conditions such as change in attitude or mood, loss of appetite, change in weight.
• Serves as a mandated reporter and reports any concerns regarding potential mistreatment
• Offers pertinent observations and input.
• Responds appropriately to resident and building emergencies.

• If under 18 must be on the MN NA registry and site must be able to manage restrictions that they are not able to pass medications or operate a mechanical lift independently.
