Job summary

Village on the Park McKinney, an Assisted Living with Memory Care senior community, is seeking compassionate Resident Assistants to make a meaningful impact in residents’ lives.

Position pays $16.00–$17.00 per hour on-site, with shifts 3:00 p.m.–11:00 p.m. and 11:00 p.m.–7:00 a.m. Weekend and holiday availability is required, with a robust benefits package including 401K, PTO, healthcare options, and more.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required.
• 6 months to 1 year of prior resident care experience, preferably with seniors.
• Excellent communication and customer service skills.
• Strong problem-solving skills, good judgment, and attention to detail.
• Understanding of HIPAA requirements.

Responsibilities

• Assist residents with activities of daily living, including bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, transferring, and dining, promoting independence.
• Serve meals and assist with meal preparation; encourage proper nutrition and hydration.
• Initiate and participate in leisure activities to promote socialization and friendships.
• Maintain accurate and timely records of leisure activities, incidents, observations, and changes in residents' conditions.
• Ensure a clean, safe, orderly environment; perform housekeeping duties.
• Follow procedures in emergencies and respond to resident requests, including emergencies and call pendants.
• Know residents’ locations, remind them to sign out, report if a resident cannot be located.
• Foster a cooperative team environment with co-workers.
• Attend all required in-service training sessions.
• Be an active member of the community’s emergency response team.
• Maintain professional appearance and hygiene per company policies.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Assist residents with activities of daily living, including bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, transferring, and dining, while encouraging as much independence as possible.
• Serve meals in the dining room or residents’ apartments, assist in meal preparation, and encourage proper nutrition and hydration.
• Initiate and participate in leisure activities, encouraging residents to socialize and build friendships.
• Maintain accurate and timely records, documenting leisure activities, incidents, observations, and any changes in residents' conditions.
• Ensure a clean, safe, and orderly environment for residents, performing general housekeeping duties.
• Follow proper procedures in emergencies and respond quickly to resident requests, including emergency call pendants and telephone calls.
• Know each resident’s location, remind them to sign out when leaving, and promptly report if a resident cannot be located.
• Foster a cooperative team environment through positive interactions with co-workers.
• Attend all required in-service training sessions.
• Be an active member of the community’s emergency response team.
• Maintain a professional appearance and good personal hygiene in accordance with company policies.
