Job summary

The Aspenwood Company - Village on the Park Plano is seeking compassionate Resident Assistants to provide exceptional care in a warm, homelike environment. Responsibilities include assisting with activities of daily living, dining support, and promoting engagement while maintaining accurate records.

A strong team focus and HIPAA awareness are essential. Shifts available include early, afternoon, and overnight; pay range is competitive with benefits such as 401K, PTO, and healthcare options.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required.
• 6 months to 1 year of prior resident care experience preferred.
• Excellent communication and customer service skills.
• Strong problem‑solving, judgment and attention to detail.
• Understanding of HIPAA requirements.

Responsibilities

• Assist residents with activities of daily living including bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, transferring, and dining while promoting independence.
• Serve meals and assist with meal preparation and hydration.
• Encourage socialization and participation in leisure activities.
• Maintain accurate and timely records of activities, observations, and changes in residents’ conditions.
• Ensure a clean, safe, and orderly environment; perform light housekeeping as needed.
• Follow procedures in emergencies and respond to resident requests promptly.
• Know each resident's location, monitor sign-out, and report if a resident cannot be located.
• Collaborate with team members to foster a cooperative work environment.
• Attend required in-service training sessions.
• Be an active member of the community's emergency response team.
• Maintain professional appearance and adhere to company policies.

Location:

Village on the Park Plano, an Assisted Living with Memory Care senior community

Shifts Available

• 6:00 a.m. - 2:00 p.m.
• 2:00 p.m. - 10:00 p.m.
• 10:00 p.m. - 6:00 a.m.

Pay Range: $16.50/hr. - $17.50/hr.

Must be available to work weekends and holidays

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Assist residents with activities of daily living, including bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, transferring, and dining, while encouraging as much independence as possible.
• Serve meals in the dining room or residents' apartments, assist in meal preparation, and encourage proper nutrition and hydration.
• Initiate and participate in leisure activities, encouraging residents to socialize and build friendships.
• Maintain accurate and timely records, documenting leisure activities, incidents, observations, and any changes in residents' conditions.
• Ensure a clean, safe, and orderly environment for residents, performing general housekeeping duties.
• Follow proper procedures in emergencies and respond quickly to resident requests, including emergency call pendants and telephone calls.
• Know each resident's location, remind them to sign out when leaving, and promptly report if a resident cannot be located.
• Foster a cooperative team environment through positive interactions with co-workers.
• Attend all required in-service training sessions.
• Be an active member of the community's emergency response team.
• Maintain a professional appearance and good personal hygiene in accordance with company policies.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

• High School diploma or GED required.
• 6 months to 1 year of prior resident care experience, preferably with seniors.
• Excellent communication and customer service skills.
• Strong problem-solving skills, good judgment, and attention to detail.
• Understanding of HIPAA requirements.
