Job summary

Village on the Park Denton, an Assisted Living with Memory Care senior community, is seeking a Memory Care Resident Assistant who is compassionate and dedicated to seniors. You will support residents with daily activities and help create a warm, homelike environment.

Pay rate ranges from $16.00 to $17.00 per hour for full-time, with a 4 on, 2 off schedule from 6:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. Weekend and holiday availability is required.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required.
• 6 months to 1 year of prior resident care experience, preferably with seniors.
• Excellent communication and customer service skills.
• Strong problem-solving skills, good judgment, and attention to detail.
• Understanding of HIPAA requirements.

Responsibilities

• Assist residents with activities of daily living (ADLs) while promoting independence.
• Serve meals and assist with meal preparation; support proper nutrition and hydration.
• Initiate and participate in leisure activities; encourage socialization.
• Maintain accurate records of activities, incidents, observations, and changes.
• Keep environment clean, safe, and orderly; perform housekeeping tasks.
• Follow procedures during emergencies; respond to calls promptly.
• Know residents' locations; ensure sign-out when leaving; report missing residents.
• Foster teamwork through positive interactions.
• Attend required in-service trainings.
• Be active member of community emergency response team.
• Maintain professional appearance and hygiene per policies.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Assist residents with activities of daily living, including bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, transferring, and dining, while encouraging as much independence as possible.
• Serve meals in the dining room or residents’ apartments, assist in meal preparation, and encourage proper nutrition and hydration.
• Initiate and participate in leisure activities, encouraging residents to socialize and build friendships.
• Maintain accurate and timely records, documenting leisure activities, incidents, observations, and any changes in residents' conditions.
• Ensure a clean, safe, and orderly environment for residents, performing general housekeeping duties.
• Follow proper procedures in emergencies and respond quickly to resident requests, including emergency call pendants and telephone calls.
• Know each resident’s location, remind them to sign out when leaving, and promptly report if a resident cannot be located.
• Foster a cooperative team environment through positive interactions with co-workers.
• Attend all required in-service training sessions.
• Be an active member of the community’s emergency response team.
• Maintain a professional appearance and good personal hygiene in accordance with company policies.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

• High School diploma or GED required.
• 6 months to 1 year of prior resident care experience, preferably with seniors.
