Job summary

Village of the Heights is seeking a compassionate Resident Assistant to support seniors in a warm, homelike setting. You’ll help with daily activities, assist with meals, and promote independence while maintaining safety and dignity.

This full-time role requires weekend availability and offers benefits, a competitive hourly pay, and opportunities to engage residents in meaningful activities within memory care surroundings.

Qualifications

  • High School diploma or GED required.
  • 6 months to 1 year of resident care experience, preferably with seniors.
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills.
  • Strong problem-solving skills, good judgment, and attention to detail.
  • Understanding of HIPAA requirements.

Responsibilities

  • Assist residents with activities of daily living, including bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, transferring, and dining, while encouraging as much independence.
  • Serve meals in the dining room or residents’ apartments, assist in meal preparation, and encourage proper nutrition and hydration.
  • Initiate and participate in leisure activities, encouraging residents to socialize and build friendships.
  • Maintain accurate and timely records, documenting leisure activities, incidents, observations, and any changes in residents' conditions.
  • Ensure a clean, safe, and orderly environment for residents, performing general housekeeping duties.
  • Follow proper procedures in emergencies and respond quickly to resident requests, including emergency call pendants and telephone calls.
  • Know each resident’s location, remind them to sign out when leaving, and promptly report if a resident cannot be located.
  • Foster a cooperative team environment through positive interactions with co-workers.
  • Attend all required in-service training sessions.
  • Be an active member of the community’s emergency response team.
  • Maintain a professional appearance and good personal hygiene in accordance with company policies.

Location:

Village of the Heights, an Assisted Living with Memory Care senior community

Pay Rate:

$14.00/hr. - $15.50/hr.

Shifts Available
Full Time:

2:00 p.m. - 10:00 p.m.

Must be available to work weekends and holidays
