Job summary

The Aspenwood Company - Village On the Park Denton is seeking Memory Care Resident Assistants to provide compassionate care in a warm, homelike community for seniors. You will support residents with daily living activities and meaningful engagement in a caring environment.

This full-time position offers a daytime schedule (4 on 2 off, 6:00 a.m.–2:00 p.m.) and competitive pay, with benefits including 401K, PTO, healthcare, and more.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required.
• 6 months to 1 year of resident care experience, preferably with seniors.
• Excellent communication and customer service skills.
• Strong problem-solving skills, good judgment and attention to detail.
• Understanding of HIPAA requirements.

Responsibilities

• Assist residents with activities of daily living while promoting independence.
• Serve meals and assist with nutrition and hydration.
• Encourage socialization and leisure activities.
• Maintain accurate records of activities and conditions.
• Ensure a clean, safe living environment.
• Respond to emergencies and call pendants.
• Know residents’ locations and report if not located.
• Collaborate with team and attend trainings.
• Be an active member of the emergency response team.
• Maintain professional appearance per policy.

Location:

Village on the Park Denton, an Assisted Living with Memory Care senior community.

Pay Rate: $16.00/hr. - $17.00/hr.

Full Time

Schedule:

4 on 2 off | 6:00 a.m. - 2:00 p.m.

Must be available to work weekends and holidays

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Assist residents with activities of daily living, including bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, transferring, and dining, while encouraging as much independence as possible.
• Serve meals in the dining room or residents’ apartments, assist in meal preparation, and encourage proper nutrition and hydration.
• Initiate and participate in leisure activities, encouraging residents to socialize and build friendships.
• Maintain accurate and timely records, documenting leisure activities, incidents, observations, and any changes in residents' conditions.
• Ensure a clean, safe, and orderly environment for residents, performing general housekeeping duties.
• Follow proper procedures in emergencies and respond quickly to resident requests, including emergency call pendants and telephone calls.
• Know each resident’s location, remind them to sign out when leaving, and promptly report if a resident cannot be located.
• Foster a cooperative team environment through positive interactions with co-workers.
• Attend all required in-service training sessions.
• Be an active member of the community’s emergency response team.
• Maintain a professional appearance and good personal hygiene in accordance with company policies.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

• High School diploma or GED required.
• 6 months to 1 year of prior resident care experience, preferably with seniors.
• Excellent communication and customer service skills.
• Strong problem-solving skills, good judgment, and attention to detail.
• Understanding of HIPAA requirements.
