Job summary

The Aspenwood Company seeks compassionate Resident Assistants to provide high-quality care in a senior living environment. You will support residents with daily activities, meals, and social engagement while maintaining safety and dignity.

Shifts include early, afternoon, and overnight PRN options, with weekends and holidays required. Benefits listed below support financial security and work-life balance for dedicated team members.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required.
• 6 months to 1 year of resident care experience, preferably with seniors.
• Excellent communication and customer service skills.
• Strong problem-solving skills, good judgment, and attention to detail.
• Understanding of HIPAA requirements.

Responsibilities

• Assist residents with activities of daily living (bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, transferring, dining) and promote independence.
• Serve meals and assist with meal prep, encouraging proper nutrition and hydration.
• Initiate and participate in leisure activities, helping residents socialize and form friendships.
• Maintain accurate records of leisure activities, incidents, observations, and changes in residents’ conditions.
• Ensure clean, safe, and orderly environment; perform light housekeeping.
• Follow procedures in emergencies and respond quickly to urgent requests (pendants/phone).
• Know each resident’s location, remind sign-outs, and report if unaccounted for.
• Foster teamwork through positive interactions with staff.
• Attend required in-service trainings and be part of emergency response team.
• Maintain professional appearance and adhere to policies.

Village on the Park Stonebridge, an Assisted Living with Memory Care senior community

Shifts Available

• 6:00 a.m. - 2:00 p.m.
• 2:00 p.m. - 10:00 p.m.
• 10:00 p.m. - 6:00 a.m.

PRN Shifts Available

Must be available to work weekends and holidays

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Assist residents with activities of daily living, including bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, transferring, and dining, while encouraging as much independence as possible.
• Serve meals in the dining room or residents' apartments, assist in meal preparation, and encourage proper nutrition and hydration.
• Initiate and participate in leisure activities, encouraging residents to socialize and build friendships.
• Maintain accurate and timely records, documenting leisure activities, incidents, observations, and any changes in residents' conditions.
• Ensure a clean, safe, and orderly environment for residents, performing general housekeeping duties.
• Follow proper procedures in emergencies and respond quickly to resident requests, including emergency call pendants and telephone calls.
• Know each resident's location, remind them to sign out when leaving, and promptly report if a resident cannot be located.
• Foster a cooperative team environment through positive interactions with co-workers.
• Attend all required in-service training sessions.
• Be an active member of the community's emergency response team.
• Maintain a professional appearance and good personal hygiene in accordance with company policies.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

• High School diploma or GED required.
• 6 months to 1 year of prior resident care experience, preferably with seniors.
• Excellent communication and customer service skills.
• Strong problem-solving skills, good judgment, and attention to detail.
• Understanding of HIPAA requirements.
