Job summary

MediLodge of Port Huron is seeking a Resident Activity Assistant to organize and participate in person-centered activity programming. You will document participant engagement and the value of approaches in medical records.

The role supports comfort, stimulation, and community among residents, with opportunities for varied therapies and close collaboration with the care team. The position emphasizes developing monthly calendars, leading groups, and coordinating for events while promoting resident

Responsibilities

• Assist the resident activity director as needed.
• Use the environment to provide comfort and stimulation to residents.
• Foster a sense of community within the center.
• Lead and participate in individual and group activities.
• Utilize various models for individualized programming (e.g., pet, music, art therapy).
• Assist with decorating for events and seasonal celebrations.
• Develop and post monthly activity calendars for residents and families.
• Participate in recreational programs for residents who cannot leave their rooms.
• Promote volunteer involvement in the community.
• Maintain records of activities and attendance.
• Store and clean activity equipment after use.
• Support resident well-being using a biopsychosocial approach.
• Provide comfort/support to residents and families when needed.
• Perform other assigned tasks.
