Job summary

MediLodge of St. Clair is seeking a Resident Activity Assistant to organize and participate in person-specific activity programming, including one-to-one interventions and group sessions.

You will document participation and outcomes in the resident's medical record, contributing to a meaningful daily experience for residents. The role emphasizes teamwork, creativity in therapy approaches (pet/music/art therapies), and supporting residents and families with compassionate care in a skilled nursing

Qualifications

• Demonstrated willingness to learn new modalities and approaches.
• Good listener with ability to build rapport with residents and families.
• Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
• Ability to work collaboratively with multiple disciplines.

Responsibilities

• Assists the resident activity director as needed.
• Utilizes the environment to provide comfort and stimulation for residents.
• Leads and participates in individual and group activities.
• Develops and posts monthly activity calendars.
• Maintains records of activities and attendance.
• Promotes volunteer involvement and community engagement.
• Supports resident well-being using biopsychosocial approaches.
