Qualifications

• Requires minimum two (2) years college education with courses in recreation, education, social work, other behavioral sciences or clinical services.
• Two (2) years’ experience in a social or recreational program within the past five years, with one year full-time employment in a patient/resident activities program in a health care setting.

Responsibilities

• Assists in planning, implementation, and evaluation of recreation programs.
• Interviews residents, family members, and representatives to develop individualized recreation plans.
• Schedules activities to accommodate morning, afternoon, evening, and weekend hours across locations.
• Delivers activities for cognitively impaired residents with adaptations and prompts as needed.
• Develops and updates policies and procedures for Recreation Services and documents progress notes.

Education

Two years college education with courses in recreation, education, social work, other behavioral sciences or clinical services.
