Job summary

Broadway-Healthcare-Center is seeking an Activity Assistant to help plan and implement resident activities in alignment with care plans and regulatory standards, under direction of the Director of Activities.

You will greet residents, refer to them by name, and communicate clearly with residents, families, visitors and staff. Collaboration with multidisciplinary teams and strict HIPAA privacy are required; willingness to assist residents in discomfort is expected.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED.
• Minimum 6 months experience in skilled nursing preferred.
• Must read, write, speak, and understand the English language.
• Must be able to follow directions.

Responsibilities

• Planning, organizing and conducting activities for the facility
• Involving residents and family members in the planning whenever possible
• Coordinating activities with other departments and working collaboratively with all staff
• Following Infection and Control policies and Safety and Sanitation procedures
• Reporting any occupational exposures to blood, body fluids, or other hazardous materials to a supervisor immediately
• Protecting each resident's file and data with confidentiality per HIPAA standards
