Qualifications

• Experience as a Long-Term Care Activities Assistant or similar role preferred.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Ability to work with elderly or disabled individuals.
• Organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to work independently and in a multidisciplinary team.
• Basic knowledge of health and safety regulations in a care environment.

Responsibilities

• Assist in organizing and facilitating recreational and therapeutic activities tailored to long-term care residents.
• Encourage resident participation and foster a positive, inclusive environment.
• Support development of individualized activity plans with the care team.
• Monitor and document resident engagement and progress during activities.
• Communicate effectively with residents, families, and staff to enhance the activity program.
• Maintain a safe and clean activity area and ensure equipment is stored properly.
