Job summary

LAKESHOREVILLAGE is seeking an Activity Assistant to support an engaging activities program for residents, under the direction of the Activity Director. You will help plan and conduct activities, assist with calendars, and coordinate transportation and communications with staff, families, and external partners.

Qualifications include a high school diploma or equivalent, and ideally one year in a long-term care setting.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Preferable one-year experience in a long term care facility.
• Ability to read and comprehend policy and procedure manuals.
• Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from managers and employees.
• Ability to apply fractions, percentages, ratios and proportions.
• Ability to solve practical problems.

Responsibilities

• Assist in planning and conducting activities for residents.
• Facilitate communication between staff, residents, families and the public.
• Develop monthly activity calendar and attendance records.
• Arrange transportation for residents as needed.
• Encourage resident participation in activities.
• Maintain a clean and secure Activity Department.
• Support discharge planning and activity care plans.
