Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Preferable one-year experience in a long term care facility.
• Ability to read technical procedures.
• Ability to read and comprehend policy and procedure manuals.
• Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from managers and employees.

Responsibilities

• Plan and conduct activities for individuals and groups.
• Assist in communication between staff, residents, families, and the public to meet residents' needs.
• Develop monthly activity calendars and maintain attendance records.
• Assist in action plans to correct quality deficiencies as requested by the Activities Director.
• Arrange transportation for residents to outings, appointments, or discharge.
• Develop activity schedules including outings, group activities, and in-room activities for bed-bound residents.
• Encourage resident participation in hobbies and reading; provide materials including Braille or audio books as appropriate.
• Assist with assessment documentation and quarterly progress notes.
