Job summary

Great Lakes Management is seeking an Activities Assistant to support the Life Enrichment Director in planning and delivering engaging programs for residents. You will assess needs, help create monthly calendars, and lead a range of activities for seniors.

Responsibilities include coordinating transportation for field trips, supervising volunteers, and staying organized to ensure safe, enjoyable programming. On-site work with routine hours and occasional evenings.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 1 year activities experience in retirement or senior care settings.
• Valid driver’s license and acceptable driving record.
• Class C license obtainable within 90 days of hire.
• Ability to use Windows and MS Office programs.
• Creative in developing and planning activity programs.
• Strong group leadership and interpersonal skills.
• Good work ethic and organizational abilities.
• Reads, writes, and speaks English proficiently.

Responsibilities

• Assist Life Enrichment Director in planning and leading events and programs.
• Assess residents’ recreational and social needs.
• Develop and promote a monthly Activity Calendar.
• Lead activities solo, in groups, and one-on-one with seniors.
• Research speakers/visitors and coordinate with coordinators.
• Coordinate transportation for outside events and accompany residents on trips.
• Supervise volunteers and assign tasks to support programming.
• Maintain vehicle cleanliness and report maintenance needs.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
