Job summary

Great Lakes Management is seeking an Activity Assistant to support the Life Enrichment Director in planning and delivering a range of programs for residents. The role involves organizing events, assessing social needs, and developing monthly calendars while coordinating transportation for outings.

Responsibilities include leading group activities for seniors, coordinating volunteers, and ensuring bus maintenance and safety.

Qualifications

Minimum 1 year activities experience in retirement, assisted living, or long-term care serving seniors.
Valid Driver’s License and acceptable driving record.
Currently possess a Class C license, or ability to obtain within 90 days of hire.
Ability to use basic Windows, Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) programs.

Responsibilities

Assist with planning, promotion, and facilitating/leading each event or program.
Assess residents' recreational and social needs.
Support development of monthly Activity Calendar of Events.
Lead activity programs with seniors (small, large, and one-on-one).
Research and recommend speakers or outside entertainers.
Coordinate transportation for events and drive the company bus on outings as assigned.
Work with volunteers and direct their assignments.
Maintain bus interior and exterior; report maintenance needs promptly.
