Job summary

Great Lakes Management seeks an Activities Assistant to support the Activities Coordinator in planning and leading a variety of activity programs designed to meet residents' social, physical, mental, emotional, and sensory needs.

The role includes promoting events, assessing residents' needs, coordinating the monthly Activity Calendar, and guiding group and one-on-one activities with seniors. Collaboration with volunteers and transportation coordination are also part of the job.

Qualifications

• Creativity in developing and planning activity programs.
• Group leadership and interpersonal skills to lead one on one, small, and large group activities.
• Able to make responsible choices and decisions, and act in a resident's best interest.

• Able to read, write, spell, do basic math, speak and understand English.

Responsibilities

• Assist Activity Coordinator with planning, promotion, and facilitating/leading each event or program.
• Assess resident's recreational and social needs.
• Support development of monthly Activity Calendar of Events.
• Lead small, large and one on one activity programs with seniors.
• Research and recommend entertainment/educational speakers, church representatives, etc.
• Coordinate transportation needs to outside events/programs and accompany residents on field trips as assigned.
• Work cooperatively with volunteers and direct their assignments to support resident programming.
