Job summary

PruittHealth seeks an Activities Assistant to help plan, implement and evaluate recreational and social programs that align with each resident’s care plan and are directed by the Supervisor.

You will conduct assessments, update programs to reflect preferences, and work with an interdisciplinary team to ensure activities are accessible and supportive across shifts. Documentation and resident engagement are essential parts of the role.

Qualifications

• Requires minimum two (2) years college education with courses in recreation, education, social work, other behavioral sciences or clinical services.
• Two (2) years’ experience in a social or recreational program within the past five years, with one year full-time employment in a patient/resident activities program in a health care setting.

Responsibilities

• Assesses residents to develop individualized recreation programs based on needs and interests.
• Updates Recreation programs to protect residents’ rights and accommodate preferences.
• Collaborates with the interdisciplinary team to implement care plans and participate in care conferences.
• Schedules activities to fit residents' hours and accommodate various locations and seasonal events.
• Provides activities for residents confined to rooms and for cognitively impaired residents with adaptations.
• Documents progress notes and audits chart entries.
