Job summary

St. Martin’s Home in Washington, DC is seeking a Resident Accounts Coordinator to support our elderly residents by managing their financial accounts, Medicaid and private-pay billing, and ensuring timely payments.

The role collaborates with social services and nursing staff, requires a two-year degree in accounting or related field (or strong equivalent), and emphasizes accuracy, compassion, and adherence to policy. Work days Monday through Friday, 9am-5:30pm.

Qualifications

• Two-year degree in accounting, business, or social work preferred.
• Five years experience in accounts receivable and Medicaid billing.
• Strong communication, organization, and reliability in a resident-facing role.

Responsibilities

• Review resident admissions for financial eligibility and rent calculations.
• Manage resident income and allowances to maintain Medicaid eligibility.
• Process income checks, direct deposits, and reconcile trust funds.
• Post expenses and interest to resident accounts; ensure monthly updates.
• Complete Medicaid and private-pay billing for nursing, assisted living, and apartments.
• Assist with year-end statements and respond to inquiries.
