Job summary

The Prospect Park YMCA, part of the YMCA of Greater New York, seeks a Residence Director to lead and manage the Community House operations, ensuring occupancy compliance, safety, and top-notch service for tenants and guests.

The role oversees staff, liaises with Social Services and government agencies, and ensures lease administration and financial coordination with the team to support daily operations.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent; Course work toward Bachelor’s Degree preferred.
• Level I - 2 to 3 years of customer service experience; Level II - 3 to 5 years; Level III - 5+ years of customer service experience
• Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to quickly build rapport and credibility
• Entrepreneurial spirit with the willingness to support team members by covering additional shifts at times
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and deal with pressure
• Excellent service skills
• Solution oriented
• Knowledge of Microsoft Office

Responsibilities

• Conduct weekly meetings YMCA Fiscal Officer and Accounts Payable to manage invoices.
• Conduct weekly meetings with Social Service Director to coordinate daily operations.
• Manage the day-to-day operations of Community House related to building maintenance, security, and resident administration, in collaboration with Properties and Membership departments.
• Act as liaison with government agencies, social service agencies, and other external partners.
• Manage Community House occupancy in accordance with government agency requirements and approved occupancy levels, in coordination with Social Services as the requestor.
• Coordinate the preparation of vacant rooms for occupancy in collaboration with Properties.
• Review prospective residents referred by Social Services and participate in the risk management review of applications.
• Address resident concerns related to leases, House Rules, rent payments, and other tenant matters
