Job summary

Los Alamos National Laboratory in Los Alamos, NM, seeks Research Technologist 1 or 2 to assemble and test accelerator components and support high-voltage testing. The role spans procedure improvement, part-kit preparation, and data review.

RT1 requires a Bachelor's and 2 years' related experience; RT2 adds leadership, independent work, and onboarding responsibilities, with travel to NNSS or other sites possible.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree from an accredited institution and 2 years related experience (RT1) or 5 years (RT2).
• Experience reading drawings; GD&T knowledge.
• Familiar with lab test equipment: multimeters, oscilloscopes, power supplies.

Responsibilities

• Fabrication, assembly, and testing of accelerator components.
• Coordinate with production engineers on assembly tasks.
• Ensure components are inspected, staged, and meet quality requirements.
• Provide maintenance support and collaborate with technicians and engineers.
• Lead or mentor technologists as needed (RT2).
