Job summary

Los Alamos National Laboratory seeks an R&D Engineer to support the RF Engineering group within the Accelerator Operations and Technology division. The role covers RF amplifier design, testing, and upgrades for the 201 HPRF team at LANSCE.

The position requires collaboration with engineers and technicians across multiple groups, delivering reliable RF solutions and documentation for complex accelerator systems.

Qualifications

  • Proficiency with RF test equipment and high-voltage components.
  • Experience with RF circuit analysis and amplifier systems (solid-state and tube-based).
  • Experience with schematic capture and simulation tools (AutoCAD, Eagle, PSpice, LTSpice).
  • Strong documentation skills and ability to present technical content to diverse audiences.
  • Proven ability to work independently and on multi-disciplinary projects.

Responsibilities

  • Troubleshoot programmatic equipment and support RF system upgrades.
  • Lead design, procurement, installation plans for RF amplifier projects.
  • Coordinate testing, delivery, and integration with other accelerator systems teams.
  • Develop specifications, schematics, and test documentation for complex RF systems.
