Job summary

Los Alamos National Laboratory is seeking an Engineering Technologist to join the Mechanical Design Team of the AOT-MDE group in Los Alamos, NM. The role focuses on design and drafting of accelerator components, including vacuum vessels, RF-drive systems, water-cooling and magnet design.

The candidate should have a BS in Engineering and at least 8 years of directly related experience, with proficiency in SolidWorks (or CREO) and GD&T per ASME Y14.5.

Qualifications

• Demonstrate extensive mechanical design and drafting experience across core responsibilities.
• Lead design and drafting from concept through fabrication and validation.
• Proficient with SolidWorks or CREO and GD&T using ASME Y14.5 standards.

Responsibilities

• Lead all aspects of the design and drafting process from concept to fabrication.
• Collaborate with scientists, engineers, machinists and fabrication personnel to implement design solutions.
• Ensure designs meet radiation resistance, vacuum, water-cooling and lifetime requirements.
