Job summary

LAC Federal is seeking Information Specialists/Librarians to provide professional reference, research, information retrieval, and library services for a federal library supporting corrections professionals, government agencies, students, and researchers.

The Information Specialists will conduct independent research, support library users, maintain physical and electronic collections, and contribute to the development and dissemination of specialized information resources.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in Library/Information Science or Public Administration.
• Minimum of three years library/public admin experience.
• Advanced written and verbal communication, including public speaking.
• Ability to obtain U.S. government security clearance.
• Willingness to travel up to four times per year.

Responsibilities

• Conduct independent reference research and respond to information requests.
• Identify, evaluate, and recommend authoritative resources.
• Monitor corrections literature, policy developments, and research topics.
• Staff the public service desk and assist users with research.
• Maintain physical and digital collections and bibliographies.
• Edit website content using HTML and Drupal.
• Deliver presentations to diverse audiences.
• Ensure Section 508 accessibility compliance.
• Collaborate on programs with other library professionals.
