Job summary

Advocate Health, Wake Forest University Health Sciences – Academic WF Institute for Regen Medicine, is seeking a laboratory technician to perform standardized lab tests under supervision. You will assist with data collection, analysis, and provide guidance to lab staff while supporting ongoing research projects.

Requires a Bachelor's degree in biology/chemistry or related science, or equivalent experience, and hands-on experience with laboratory safety and equipment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Biology, Chemistry, Zoology, or related science or four years of clinical/research experience.
• Good listening and communication skills are required.
• Basic computer skills and familiarity with medical terminology.
• Knowledge of medical equipment and safety practices.

Responsibilities

• Conducts standardized chemical, physical, and biological tests on samples.
• Performs micro-analysis, lipids analysis, enzyme studies, and chromatographic studies.
• Sets up equipment and organizes materials for scheduled tests and experiments.
• Prepares charts, graphs, and reports from data obtained during experiments.
• Isolates and identifies microorganisms using standard lab techniques.
• Trains graduate students, medical students, and staff in procedures.
• Collects tissues and specimens for analysis; handles samples for microscopic examination.
