Job summary

Advocate Health is seeking a Research Laboratory Technician to support a cardiovascular research lab within the Department of Cardiothoracic Surgery at Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center and School of Medicine. The role coordinates lab operations, oversees equipment and inventory, and assists with regulatory compliance while performing advanced molecular techniques.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in biological/physical sciences with two years related clinical/research experience; or equivalent.
• Master's degree in biology or related physical science preferred.
• Ability to listen and communicate effectively.
• Knowledge of medical terminology and safety precautions in a lab environment.

Responsibilities

• Consults with principal investigator and assists in developing plans for experiments and data collection.
• Modifies lab procedures to meet project needs.
• Prepares reports and discusses results with the PI.
• Reviews literature for procedural background and support information.
• Conducts chemical, physical, and biological tests on materials.
