Job summary

The Wake Forest Institute for Regenerative Medicine (WFIRM) seeks a Research Laboratory Technician II to support groundbreaking research in bioengineered tissue models. Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Biology, Chemistry, Zoology, or other related science, or high school diploma with four years of related clinical/research experience.

Responsibilities

• Confer with principal investigator and assist in developing plans for research experiments and data collection procedures; modify existing laboratory procedures and protocols to meet project needs.
• Prepare detailed reports on results; discuss interpretation with PI.
• Review scientific literature for procedures and support information; organize information for applicable research projects.
• Conduct complex tests on experimental materials; analyze materials for clinical manufacturing compatibility.
• Supervise, train, and review work of students and lower level technicians.
• Design, test and manufacture microfluidic chip systems and related devices.
• Operate complex laboratory instruments; train personnel in their use.
• Requisition and maintain inventory of supplies and equipment.
• Perform other duties incidental to the work described.
