Job summary

Moore & Van Allen is seeking a Manager of Research & Knowledge Management in Charlotte, NC. This role leads the library’s collection, systems, staff, and services while serving as a partner to attorneys and firm leadership.

The position requires direct, in-person collaboration with attorneys, vendors, and external partners. The role focuses on library collection and vendor management, research services, and leadership/operations to ensure access to print and electronic resources.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in Library and Information Science (MLIS) or equivalent required.
• 5+ years of experience in a law library or legal research environment required.
• Strong knowledge of legal bibliography, legal research, and law library operations.
• Demonstrated supervisory and people management experience required.

Responsibilities

• Manage library collection, vendor relationships, and budgets; oversee print and electronic resources.
• Provide research support to attorneys and staff; lead training on research tools and resources.
• Train, supervise, and evaluate library staff; manage space and catalog operations.
• Coordinate interlibrary loan and ensure library services align with firm needs.
