Job summary

Moore & Van Allen PLLC in Charlotte, NC seeks an experienced Manager of Research & Knowledge Management to lead its library collection, services and operations, collaborating closely with attorneys, leadership, vendors and external partners. This in-person, hands-on role requires MLIS or equivalent and 5+ years in a law library or legal research environment.

You will supervise staff, manage budgets, maintain the catalog, oversee interlibrary loans, and stay current on trends in legal research

Qualifications

MLIS or equivalent required.
5+ years of experience in a law library or legal research environment.
Strong knowledge of legal bibliography, legal research, and library operations.
Demonstrated supervisory and people management experience.

Responsibilities

Develop, evaluate, and manage print and electronic legal resources.
Research, recommend, and negotiate contracts for new legal research products and databases.
Analyze usage data to optimize resources and proactively manage costs.
Maintain relationships with publishers and vendors.
Administer online research and reference services and provide research support to attorneys and staff.
Lead training on legal research tools and library resources.
Train, supervise, and evaluate library team members.
Prepare and manage the library budget and oversee catalog and circulation.
Coordinate interlibrary loan services and align library services with business needs.
