Job summary

Westlake Financial seeks a Repossession Skip Trace Agent in Los Angeles to locate delinquent borrowers and collateral using advanced skip tracing techniques. You’ll work with recovery agents, collections, and legal to support repossession efforts in line with laws and company rules.

Your role requires investigative skills, meticulous attention to detail, and proficiency with skip tracing databases. Strong written and verbal communication, plus the ability to handle multiple cases, are essential.

Qualifications

• Experience in skip tracing, collections, repossession, or related field.
• Knowledge of FDCPA, FCRA, and repossession laws.
• Proficient with skip tracing databases and public records.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to manage multiple accounts and meet deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Use skip tracing databases, public records, and investigative tools to locate individuals and/or collateral.
• Verify and analyze information to confirm addresses, employment, relatives, and associates.
• Maintain accurate, detailed case files with all efforts, contacts, and findings.
• Communicate findings with repossession agents and coordinate recovery efforts.
• Work with internal departments to support recovery and minimize losses.
• Follow FDCPA, FCRA, GLBA, and privacy guidelines.
• Perform outbound calls and emails to references, employers, and contacts when appropriate.
• Identify patterns to improve location strategies for hard-to-find accounts.
• Maintain productivity, compliance, and quality metrics as defined by standards.
• Assist in updating skip tracing software tools and lead sources.
