Job summary

RTX's Collins Aerospace unit in Miramar, FL is seeking an on-site Aircraft Components Technician to support repair, overhaul and assembly of electronic accessory components. The role requires adherence to EH&S, FAA regulations and precise maintenance data execution in SAP.

You will inspect, troubleshoot and rework parts, maintain data records, and collaborate with supervision to meet performance goals. First shift 7am–3:30pm.

Qualifications

  • Typically requires HS diploma (or equivalent, e.g. G.E.D. in the US) or vocational/technical education in related discipline.
  • FAR 65.71(a)(2) language requirements: read, speak and understand English per FAA regulations.
  • A&P license or attending School or training is preferred/recommended.

Responsibilities

  • Participate in the company's continuous improvement and EH&S activities and initiatives.
  • Understand and deliver on individual and departmental established performance goals; work with supervisors to resolve problems.
  • Enter and retrieve information from our operating (SAP) system to perform daily activities.
  • Demonstrate safe work habits and maintain neat and orderly work area.
  • Follow specific instructions and use all required equipment to perform assigned work according to FAA and company regulations; interface with customers (government personnel or auditors) as necessary; inspect and disposition components and modules.
  • Rework/repair, scrap, and replace/order components, modules, and LRUs as required.
  • Assemble, disassemble, clean, inspect, troubleshoot, and repair all types of manufactured electronic accessory components as required including testing.
  • Check clearances, tolerances, and alignment, making necessary replacements and adjustments to assure conformance to specified configurations.
  • Record data to accept or reject criteria to approved maintenance data.
  • Identify proper parts with part number and serialization.
  • Verify electrical continuity, insulation resistance testing, and dielectric testing of electromechanical devices.
  • Independently follow through on job assignments, resolving questions and problems.
  • Support and participate on the site's EH&S, Quality, and HR Employee Engagement initiatives and programs.

What You Will Do:

Qualifications You Must Have:

  • Meet FAR 65.71(a)(2) (be able to read, speak and understand the English language, or in the case of an applicant who does not meet this requirement and who is employed outside of the United States by a U.S air carrier, have his certificate endorsed "Valid only outside the United States.", FAR 145.155 (b) (a certified repair station must ensure its inspector understand, read and write English.)
