Job summary

Collins Aerospace, an RTX business, is seeking an onsite manufacturing associate for precision deburring, laser marking setup, and assembly. You will read drawings, verify tolerances, and maintain accurate shop data while supporting continuous improvement.

You will work primarily onsite with a 2nd shift schedule (3:00 pm–11:00 pm) and opportunities to learn GD&T, inspection equipment, and cross-functional manufacturing processes.

Qualifications

  • HS diploma or equivalent; 2 years of relevant experience acceptable in lieu.
  • Basic math skills including decimals.
  • Basic computer skills and ability to use multiple applications.

Responsibilities

  • Use a variety of hand tools to remove burrs or sharp edges.
  • Perform setup and runs on laser marking machines.
  • Assemble components.
  • Read and interpret process prints, engineering and quality standards, and related drawings.
  • Monitor part tolerances and identify non-conforming features.
  • Maintain documentation and inputs like shop travelers and production data.
  • Identify and report process inefficiencies and machine issues.
  • Follow work priorities to meet production goals.
  • Handle exposure to coolants, cleaners, oils and chemical vapors.
  • Obtain and maintain required inspection certifications.
  • 2nd shift: Mon-Fri, 3:00 pm - 11:00 pm.

What You Will Do
  • Use a variety of hand tools to remove Burrs, or sharp edges.
  • Perform machine setup and runs on laser marking machines
  • Assembly of components
  • Read, interpret and comprehend, process prints, engineering and quality standards, and other informational drawings and work instructions.
  • Monitor part specific dimensional tolerances while performing the operation & identify non-conforming part features
  • Maintain accurate documentation and system inputs (shop traveler, labor charging, production tracking software, inspection results, etc.)
  • Identify and report process inefficiencies, machine issues, and improvement opportunities
  • Follow work priorities to accomplish production goals
  • Can handle contact with coolants, cleaning fluids, and oils (petroleum based products) and chemical vapors from products during the normal manufacturing
  • Obtain and maintain required Inspection Certification(s)
  • Additional responsibilities and duties as assigned
  • 2nd shift: Monday - Friday, 3:00 pm - 11:00 pm
What You Will Learn
  • Precision deburring process to print specifications.
  • Set-up and operation of laser markers
  • Reading/interpreting GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing)
  • Cross-functional collaboration through various types of manufacturing and processes.
  • Gain experience with a variety of inspection equipment.
Qualifications You Must Have
  • Typically requires HS diploma or equivalent or in the absence of a HS diploma or GED, 2 years of relevant experience.
  • Basic math skills, including adding and subtracting decimals
  • Basic computer skills and ability to learn and use multiple computer applications (including email, internet, and other job-specific applications).
Qualifications We Prefer
  • Experience with measurement equipment, i.e. gauges, calipers, etc.
  • Experience with basic hand tools.
  • Experience reading, interpreting, and following blueprints.
