Job summary

Collins Aerospace in Miramar, FL seeks an on-site Technician to support maintenance tasks in a FAA-regulated environment. You will use SAP for data entry and retrieval, ensuring quality and compliance while coordinating with supervisors and other teams.

The role starts at 7:00 AM and runs until 3:30 PM, Monday through Friday. The ideal candidate has a HS diploma or GED and English proficiency; A&P license or current training is preferred.

Qualifications

  • HS diploma (or GED) required or equivalent.
  • Read, speak and understand English per FAR 65.71.
  • A&P license or attending school preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Participate in continuous improvement and EH&S activities.
  • Understand and meet performance goals; collaborate with supervisors.

  • Follow FAA and company regulations; maintain clean, safe work area.

What You Will Do
  • You will participate in the company’s continuous improvement and environmental, health and safety activities and initiatives.
  • You will understand and deliver on individual and departmental established performance goals. Work closely with supervisors and other support personnel to resolve problems.
  • You will enter and retrieve information from our operating (SAP) system to perform daily activities
  • You will demonstrate safe work habits and maintain neat and orderly work area
  • You will follow specific instructions and use all required equipment to perform assigned work according to FAA and company regulations Interface with customers (government personnel or auditors) as necessary Inspect and disposition components and modules.
  • You will rework/ repair, scrap, and replace/order components, modules, and LRU’S as required
  • You will assemble, disassemble, clean, inspect, troubleshoot, and repair all types of manufactured electronic accessory components as required including testing.
  • You will check clearances, tolerances, and alignment, making necessary replacements and adjustments to assure conformance to specified configurations Record data to accept or reject criteria to approved maintenance data Identify proper parts with part number and serialization
  • You will verify electrical continuity, insulation resistance testing, and dielectric testing of elector mechanical devices
  • You will independently follow through on job assignments, resolving questions and problems.
  • You will support and participate on the site’s EH&S, Quality, and HR Employee Engagement initiatives and programs.
  • 1st Shift Hours: 7am to 3:30pm, Monday to Friday

Qualifications You Must Have
  • Typically requires HS diploma (or equivalent, e.g. G.E.D. in the US) or vocational/technical education in related discipline.
  • Meet FAR 65.71(a)(2) (be able to read, speak and understand the English language, or in the case of an applicant who does not meet this requirement and who is employed outside of the United States by a U.S air carrier, have his certificate endorsed "Valid only outside the United States.", FAR 145.155 (b) (a certified repair station must ensure its inspector understand, read and write English.)
