Job Opportunity: Rental Field Service Technician in Manassas, Virginia

Sign-On Bonus: We are offering a $5,000 sign-on bonus for new hires, payable in two installments: $2,500 after 90 days and $2,500 after 180 days of employment.

Carter Machinery Company, the authorized Caterpillar dealer serving Virginia, West Virginia, Maryland, Delaware, and Washington D.C., is hiring a Rental Field Service Technician. This role involves performing maintenance and repairs on Caterpillar and allied rental equipment both in the shop and at customer sites. The technician will troubleshoot, determine proper repair procedures, and prepare parts requisitions.

Qualifications:

• Minimum of three years experience performing advanced mechanical service and repairs on Caterpillar and related equipment.
• High school diploma or GED required.
• Thorough knowledge of engines, transmissions, electrical systems, and related components.
• Ability to troubleshoot and analyze complex problems quickly using logic and critical thinking.
• Proficient in repairing Caterpillar and allied equipment.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Professional interaction with customers.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Self-directed, well-organized, with good workload prioritization.
• Ability to learn and apply new knowledge.
• Proficiency with technical software, databases, and manuals.
• Good driving record; ability to obtain CDL and/or DOT certification.
• Willingness to work additional hours as needed.
