Carter Machinery Company, the authorized Caterpillar dealer serving Virginia, West Virginia, Maryland, Delaware, and Washington D.C., is hiring a Rental Field Service Technician in District Heights, Maryland. The technician applies advanced mechanical skills to maintain and repair Caterpillar and allied rental equipment both in the shop and at customer sites. Responsibilities include troubleshooting, determining repair procedures, and preparing parts requisitions. Candidates should have at least three years of experience in advanced mechanical service and repairs on Caterpillar and comparable equipment. A high school diploma or GED is required.
The role requires the ability to stand, walk, handle objects, reach, climb, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, talk, hear, sit, lift/move up to 70 pounds, and have specific vision capabilities.
Starting Range: $32.34 - $45.35 per hour. Actual salary varies based on experience, skills, education, location, and other factors. Compensation may include performance-based incentives.
