Counterpart, an insurtech platform, is seeking a Production Focused Risk Engineer to underwrite renewal business in Management Liability, evaluate risk exposures, and provide quick, competitive quotes in collaboration with brokers and cross-functional teams.

You will maintain broker relationships, refine pricing models, and ensure compliant documentation while thriving in a fully remote startup environment.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of underwriting experience in Management Liability, with renewals focus preferred.
• Proven ability to build and maintain broker relationships.
• Expertise in specialty liability products, policy forms, rating procedures, and coverage structures.
• Strong analytical, organizational and communication skills.
• Comfort presenting underwriting decisions to internal and external stakeholders.
• Proficiency with modern underwriting tools and systems.
• Bachelor’s degree preferred, with minimum of 4 years of relevant work experience.
• Professional designations (e.g., RPLU, CPCU) are a plus.

Responsibilities

• Underwrite renewal business across ML product lines per guidelines and targets.
• Evaluate risk exposures, loss history, and data to determine pricing and terms.
• Provide quick, competitive quotes aligned with distribution strategies.
• Partner with wholesale brokers, maintain broker relationships to drive retention and growth.
• Represent Counterpart at broker meetings, conferences, and networking events.
• Refine guidelines, pricing models, and coverage forms with risk engineers and product teams.
• Bind renewal accounts through broker engagement and renewal lifecycle management.
• Maintain accurate, compliant underwriting documentation.
