Job summary

Radian Generation is seeking a skilled Control Center Operator II to monitor and support renewable energy assets and transmission operations from the Fernley, NV control center. The role involves real-time monitoring, routine control actions, and clear coordination with field teams to ensure grid reliability.

Candidates should have 1–3 years in renewable energy or related technical operations, with familiarity in SCADA and energy management systems.

Qualifications

• Typically requires a high school diploma; associate/technical/bachelor's preferred in Electrical Engineering, Renewable Energy, Energy Systems, or related field.
• Experience in renewable energy operations, utility operations, control center ops, or related technical environment preferred.
• Working knowledge of renewable energy assets, transmission systems, grid operations, and control center practices.
• Ability to monitor multiple systems, analyze real-time information, and remain calm under changing conditions.
• Strong communication skills for coordinating with operators and field teams.

Responsibilities

• Real-Time System Monitoring of assets, transmission conditions, alarms, trends, and events using SCADA and related tools.
• Perform routine control actions per procedures to support grid reliability and asset performance.
• Identify abnormal conditions and escalate to senior operators or leadership as needed.
• Assist during emergencies by following response procedures and documenting actions.
• Coordinate with internal teams, asset managers, and transmission operators for clear communications.
• Record operational data and events accurately in logs and reports.
• Adhere to safety and compliance requirements and maintain shift turnover with status and open items.
• Continue training to broaden knowledge of renewable energy operations and SCADA tools.
