Job summary

SCI Summit Consulting, LLC is recruiting for an experienced underwriter in the Southeast region. The role involves evaluating new and renewal business, analyzing risk data, and collaborating with actuaries, agents, brokers, and clients to gather essential information.

The position requires a Bachelor’s degree in a related field and a minimum of five years in underwriting or related areas, with professional designations preferred. Occasional travel is expected.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Economics, Risk Management and Insurance, or related field or equivalent experience.
• 5+ years of underwriting or related experience.
• Progress toward professional designation (AU/CPCU/CIC/INS/ARM) preferred.

Responsibilities

• Underwrites new and renewal business per guidelines.
• Analyzes risk data to determine coverage and pricing.
• Collaborates with actuaries, agents, brokers, and clients for information.
• Orders and reviews reports (MRV, loss history, outside inspections).
• Documents underwriting decisions per regulations.
• Evaluates existing policies for renewal or modification.
• Communicates decisions to internal teams and partners.
• Keeps abreast of industry trends and market conditions.
• Builds relationships with customers and coworkers for growth and retention.
• Interprets and markets products and services.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
• Role may require travel within the Southeast region.
