Job summary

The Hartford is seeking a Workers' Compensation Team Leader to direct investigation, disposition and settlement of claims while ensuring compliance with policies and regulatory requirements. This leadership role emphasizes coaching, training, and strategic execution to achieve department goals.

The role can be Hybrid or Remote, with coordination across offices and remote staff. You will drive reserve accuracy, manage claim inventories, and collaborate with partners to meet service and cost

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree preferred.
• Minimum of 3 years of Workers' Compensation claim experience.
• Demonstrated leadership skills to coach and develop team members.
• Strong verbal and written communication.
• Analytical and critical thinking abilities.
• Knowledge of medical terms preferred.
• Experience with reserve accuracy relative to claim exposures.

Responsibilities

• Lead claim investigations, dispositions, and settlements.
• Manage claim inventories and allocate to handlers.
• Monitor reserves and stay within budget guidelines.
• Coach and develop staff; enable succession planning.
• Communicate business vision and goals; train staff on policies.
• Ensure compliance with regulatory, statutory and ethics requirements.
