Job summary

Creative Risk Solutions, a Holmes Murphy division, seeks a Workers’ Compensation Claims Specialist with 3–5 years of WC claims handling, especially in Maine, Connecticut, and New Jersey.

You will investigate across jurisdictions, manage claim data, and coordinate with insured and insurer. Licensing in required jurisdictions within three months may be needed; a high school diploma is required.

Qualifications

• Education: High school diploma; college degree preferred.
• 3–5 years experience in workers’ compensation claims.
• Active ME/CT/NJ WC license or ability to acquire within 3 months.
• Strong knowledge of workers’ compensation coverage and claims processing; ability to use multiple software programs.

Responsibilities

• Receives, gathers and transmits workers’ compensation information from insureds, claimants, and staff in a timely manner.
• Investigates, evaluates and resolves lost time workers’ compensation claims, including litigated claims.
• Mediates between insured and insurer, researching coverage issues with minimal supervision.
• Enters and maintains accurate information in the claims system, including final settlements.
• Generates checks for indemnity and medical payments daily.
• Develops and monitors consistency in the claims handling process within CRS.
• Willingness to become licensed if required in the jurisdiction where claims are handled.
