Liberty Mutual Insurance is seeking a Workers' Compensation Claims Technician to join our dynamic team in Las Vegas. The role involves collecting essential facts, validating information from claimants and medical providers, and providing ongoing medical case management for assigned claims.

The position supports a flexible work-from-home option with in-office visits twice a month for local candidates, delivering timely, accurate communication and efficient claim handling.

Qualifications

• High school diploma plus 1-3 years' of related customer service experience or applicable insurance knowledge
• Licensing required in some states
• Analytical skills to learn and apply basic policy/contract coverage and recognize questionable coverage/contract situations
• Strong written skills to compose clear, succinct descriptions
• Good telephone and typing skills

Responsibilities

• Conduct investigation to secure essential facts from injured worker, employer and providers regarding workers' compensation.
• Verify information from claimants, physicians, and medical providers to assess compensability and/or causal relation of medical treatment.
• Provide ongoing medical case management for assigned claims.
• Initiate calls to injured worker and medical provider if projections require intervention or to resolve medical treatment issues.
• Maintain contact with injured worker, provider and employer to ensure understanding of protocols and claims processing and medical treatment.
• Assess claim status and refer problem cases to Claims Service Team or MP RN review as needed.
• Arrange Independent Medical Exam and Peer Review as necessary.
• Maintain accurate records and process payments; update status notes and generate required letters.
• Authorize payment of medical payments and/or medical treatment.
• Identify potential subrogation cases and refer to Subrogation Units
