NIIC National Interstate Insurance Company is seeking a CA Workers Comp Claims Adjuster to join the team in a hybrid role, working four days per week from Richfield, OH, or remotely from the USA if not local to the office.

The role requires a Bachelor’s degree or equivalent, with 6 months of claims experience and preference for SIP certification and progress toward professional designations such as AIC.

Formación

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in a related field.
• Prefer moderate lost time handling experience with CA, AZ & OR.
• Completion of or continuing progress toward a professional designation such as Associate in Claims (AIC).
• SIP certification preferred.

Responsabilidades

• Manages an inventory of claims to evaluate compensability/liability.
• Conducts claim investigations to confirm coverage and determine liability, compensability and damages.
• Determines and may negotiate appropriate claim settlements/reserves within prescribed authority.
• May attend arbitrations, mediations, depositions, or trials.
• Conveys routine to moderately complex information regarding coverage and settlements to insureds, claimants, and external partners.
• May authorize payments in accordance with assigned authority limit and ensures payments are made in a timely manner.
• Maintains accurate and detailed claim files, including all correspondence, reports, and settlement agreements.

Educación

Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Risk Management and Insurance, Finance, or a related field or equivalent experience
