National Interstate Insurance Company seeks a CA Workers Comp Claims Adjuster to handle claims with a focus on compensability and liability. Hybrid work from Richfield, OH or remote from the USA is possible for non-local candidates.

Requires a Bachelor’s in a related field, 6 months’ P&C claims experience, and SIP certification preferred. Ideal candidates will demonstrate analytical, negotiation, and communication skills, and manage claims within defined authority while maintaining accurate

Qualifications

• Education requirement as stated.
• Minimum 6 months of property and casualty claims handling experience.
• Preferred SIP certification.
• Experience with California and AZ moderate lost time handling is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Manage an inventory of claims and evaluate compensability/liability.
• Conduct claim investigations to confirm coverage and determine liability.
• Determine and may negotiate settlements/reserves within authority.
• Communicate coverage and settlements to insureds, claimants, and partners.
• May authorize payments within authority and ensure timely payments.
• Maintain detailed claim files and documentation.
