Job summary

Blueprint Technologies, LLC is seeking a Windows Patching & Automation Engineer to support patching, antivirus, and vulnerability compliance across a large Windows server environment. You will script, troubleshoot, and automate patch deployment while coordinating with engineering and security teams.

The role emphasizes hands-on PowerShell, Windows Update management, and remediation expertise, with a remote, LATAM-friendly setup and a 18-month client engagement.

Qualifications

• Hands-on PowerShell scripting and automation experience.
• Strong debugging and troubleshooting capabilities across multiple systems.
• Understanding of Windows Update mechanisms (Windows Update, WSUS, MSU).
• Experience troubleshooting Windows update or package installation failures via event logs and error codes.
• Ability to verify installed Windows updates using Get-HotFix, Get-WindowsPackage, DISM, or Update history.
• Hands-on experience using KQL to query operational data in Kusto.
• Clear documentation and collaboration with engineering, security, and compliance teams.

Responsibilities

• Write, maintain, and troubleshoot PowerShell scripts for patch deployment, diagnostics, remediation, and reporting.
• Support monthly Windows security patch rollouts, antivirus updates, .NET updates and related components.
• Investigate update failures using logs and installer data to identify causes and remediation steps.
• Analyze logs/telemetry to detect failure patterns and blockers, proposing fixes.
• Use Kusto (KQL) to investigate deployment results and identify systems needing follow-up.
• Verify installed updates, packages, OS versions, and runtime versions.
• Build, validate, and publish patching components following safe deployment practices across rings.
• Troubleshoot blockers related to machine state, network, capacity, or environment specifics.
• Maintain dashboards, monitoring, and compliance reporting; document investigations clearly.
• Coordinate with partner teams to resolve exceptions, escalating with evidence.
