Job summary

World Wide Technology (WWT) is seeking an Infrastructure Patch & Vulnerability Engineer to strengthen our security posture across Windows Server, RHEL, and virtualization platforms. You will drive enterprise patching and vulnerability remediation, coordinating with Information Security and Operations to reduce risk and improve compliance.

Qualifications

• Education & Experience: Associate degree in Computer Science, IT, or related field with 3+ years hands‑on system engineering; OR 5+ years in enterprise OS administration.
• Dual OS Expertise: Strong knowledge of RHEL and Windows Server in an enterprise environment.
• Provisioning & Azure Cloud: Hands‑on experience provisioning/managing OS across on‑prem and Azure.
• Vulnerability & Patch Management: Experience executing patch management, reviewing vulnerability scans, prioritizing remediation.
• Automation & Scripting: Proficiency with PowerShell, Ansible, Terraform, or Python.
• Foundational IT Infrastructure: Knowledge of VMware/vSphere, storage configurations, TCP/IP, DNS, Active Directory integration.
• Customer Service & Collaboration: Ability to support internal IT teams and drive problem resolution.

Responsibilities

• Patch deployment planning, coordination, and lifecycle management for Windows Server, RHEL, and other components across on‑prem and cloud.
• Vulnerability management: analyze scans, prioritize remediation, track timelines, drive closure of critical/high‑risk vulnerabilities.
• Tier‑2/3 operational support for Windows and RHEL; troubleshoot OS performance, storage, networking issues.
• Automation & patch orchestration: use PowerShell, Ansible, Terraform, Python; explore AI‑assisted patching and validation.
• Coordinate maintenance windows with owners; communicate impacts and blockers.
• Develop and maintain patch compliance reporting, vulnerability trackers, and governance.
• Create/runbooks and documentation for repeatable, auditable maintenance.
