Job summary

First Citizens Bank is seeking a Patch Engineer for a remote role that may be hired in AZ, FL, GA, NC, or TX. You will lead enterprise-wide patch management, vulnerability remediation, and compliance initiatives using BigFix (MEMCM) and Qualys, mentoring teams and automating patch processes.

The role requires deep experience in Windows 10/11 patching, WSUS, and third-party patch tools, with strong PowerShell automation and problem-solving skills.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of deep exposure in workstation patch management, vulnerability remediation, and compliance using MECM, BigFix, Qualys, PowerShell scripting.
• Strong knowledge of Windows 10 & 11 operating systems and patch deployment.
• Advanced knowledge of BigFix endpoint management (baseline patching) and compliance reporting.
• Understanding of WSUS and BigFix for approving, declining, and managing patches.
• Familiarity with third-party patching tools like PMPC and Ivanti.
• Proficiency in PowerShell for automation and system management; ability to create complex scripts.
• Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills for complex technical issues.

Responsibilities

• Strategy Development: Create and implement patch management strategies for Windows endpoints.
• Patch Evaluation: Assess vulnerabilities, patch criticality and impact, ensure compatibility.
• Testing: Design and execute test cases for patches in controlled environments.
• Deployment: Plan and execute patch rollout across Windows 10/11 fleet; monitor completion.
• Vulnerability Remediation: Deploy critical security patches timely to mitigate vulnerabilities.
• Troubleshooting: Resolve failures in patch installations and related issues.
• Automation: Develop scripts and use automation tools to streamline patching and remediation.
• Monitoring & Reporting: Track patch compliance metrics and generate status reports.
• Collaboration: Work with IT security, Infrastructure, Operations and OEMs.
• Documentation: Maintain documentation for patching procedures and support knowledge base.
